Register for This CourseCourse Overview
Do your patients struggle with limited, painful, or restricted jaw movement? This hands-on course focuses on the evaluation and treatment of mobility deficits of the temporomandibular joint. Building on the framework from the online course, you'll develop the manual therapy and exercise skills to restore normal, pain-free jaw mobility. Over 60% hands-on lab, with 3 hours of pre-course content and 9 hours of lab. Perfect for clinicians who want to move from concept to skilled, confident treatment. Medical professionals, including physical therapists, should expect to achieve enhanced clinical reasoning and diagnostic/management skills for patients with or without referral.
What You'll Learn
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Describe the arthrokinematics and osteokinematics of the temporomandibular joint relevant to mobility.
Differentially diagnose hypomobility and hypermobility of the temporomandibular joint.
Demonstrate competence in the examination of temporomandibular joint mobility and accessory motion.
Apply evidence-based manual therapy techniques to address mobility deficits of the temporomandibular joint.
Prescribe appropriate range-of-motion and mobility exercises for patients with craniomandibular mobility deficits.
Integrate cervical spine contributions into the management of temporomandibular mobility deficits.
